Having spent half her career raising money and the other half giving it away, Leslie understands the challenges and joys of effective philanthropy. Throughout her career, Leslie has helped corporations, individuals and families clarify their giving objectives and develop strategies for meaningful giving. In addition, she has designed and led corporate social responsibility programs with an emphasis on philanthropic giving and social enterprise and has raised money as an executive director, board member and volunteer, for various organizations in Vermont. Leslie co-leads a giving circle in Burlington, Vermont.

Laura’s experience has spanned more than 19 years in the third sector and she passionately believes in the power of effective and joyful giving. She has worked in all aspects of philanthropy - running grants programs at private, community and family foundations, major fundraising, working with individuals and families to create a personal giving mission, and directing strategy and grantmaking for large charitable gifts and private family foundations. After graduating from Middlebury College she helped found La Finca Alta Gracia School with Julia Alvarez in the Dominican Republic where she raised the start-up funding, taught the school’s first classes and picked coffee beans with her students.
